When writing this series imagined I have a younger nephew. Someone who has interest in the world of Product Management, even though he’s not from this field. This series of articles is want I’d offer him so that he becomes a clear, confident, no bs type of Product manager simply by using his curiosity and common logic. In the upcoming series of articles I will cover the following topics:
- Product in general: Understand the core principles and responsibilities of a Product Manager, from ideation to execution.
- Product Operations: The nitty-gritty details which make or break organization’s Product excellence.
- User Research: Discover how to empathise with users, identify friction and value points. Learn how to successfully validate assumptions through qualitative and quantitative research methods. Plus, I’ll be sharing a detailed list of field-tested user research tools to get you started.
- Prototyping: Dive into the world of prototyping and rapid iteration. A place where ideas are brought to life through experimentation.
- Go-to-Market Strategy: Navigate the intricate landscape of product launches and market entry with a step-by-step guide.
- Partnership with Sales: Build strong relations with Sales focused on open communication, shared goals, and mutual support. So how you influence each-others work by leveraging your unique product perspectives.
- Once you’ve got the basics it’s time to start asking questions. To yourself, your organization and your customers.
With a huge set of high and low level questions, you’ll be on your way to become the best informed person in the team.
From the outset, I envisioned this series as a guide for my hypothetical nephew, using his common sense to become an excellent Product manager. If anyone else finds these thoughts interesting, you’re more than welcome!…
